The Cars

The Summit, Houston, TX, September 11, 1984

After releasing their 6th studio album, "Heartbeat City," The Cars launched a major U-S tour. By this time, they were no longer that little new wave bar band from Boston. The Cars were now a major force, selling out full size arenas night after night.

During the tour, The Cars made a stop in Houston and put on this legendary performance at the old Summit. Wang Chung opened up for The Cars during a good portion of the tour, and again on this night. After their set, The Cars came out and gave their fans exactly what they wanted- a night chock full of classics! It was captured live on September 11, 1984.
